Painters & Allied Trades Joint Apprenticeship and Training

The Painters & Allied Trades Apprenticeship Program is conducted at two facilities, 5821 Arctic Blvd. in Anchorage and 800 30th Ave. in Fairbanks Alaska. The schools utilize instructors who are skilled journeymen painters, tapers, glaziers, and floor coverers. The schools provide upgrade training for our journeymen as well.

 

Painters & Allied Trades School Facts

 

Apprentice classes start with the most basic of safety topics such as proper eye protection and progress through the more complex, such as Permit Required Confined Space for example. Equipment certification classes, Fall Protection, Scaffold Competent Person, Lead Abatement Worker, OSHA 10 & 30, First Aid/CPR/AED. State of Alaska Hazardous Painting Certification just to name a few are also conducted. All in addition to each of the individual full scope trade skill related instructional classes. The Apprentices attend classes on Union history, personal economics, sexual harassment, green building, mathematics, communication skills, and foreman training to help round out their education.
