The Fairbanks Carpenters Training Center has been turning out highly skilled carpenters since their program started in 1950. The United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training later approved a four year, 7000-hour apprenticeship program and the Fairbanks Carpenters Training Center recently registered a new millwright program with the U.S. Department of Labor.
Fairbanks Alaska Carpenter Training Center Facts
The Fairbanks Alaska Carpenter Training Center is located in a facility close to downtown Fairbanks, on Timberland Drive between the Old and New Steese Highways. The facility includes classrooms, shop space and outside storage. The center employs two full-time instructors during the eight-month training season and employs four others for short courses as needed. The carpentry and millwright apprenticeships are four year, 7000 hour program.
